I have one of these canteens. I ordered it through the TV offer and when I called it was an automated system it sounds like you are talking to a real person, but its just a recordered young lady (I thought it was a live person at first). I was offered all the same stuff you see above and I just declined it all and my order came out fine. My one canteen with a cover came out to $20.89. That's cheaper than ordering the same stuff from Klean Kanteen before you tack on KK's shipping and handling. Heck is still would come out cheaper if I had upgraded for the $7.95 extra. I'm really happy with my EcoCanteen, I've recommended them to everyone I know!

EcoCanteen took advantage of my elderly mother on a fixed income. She just wanted to do something nice for her children, so she ordered two by phone. The representative apparently did some fast talking and had her "upgrade" the canteen top to a metal one ballooning the $9.99 canteen into $17.94 each, and "upgrade" to rush shipping which meant that she would "go to the head of the line" (as customer service explained to me) receiving the bottles in 2 weeks instead of 4. Shipping/handling totaled $29.64. To be fair, this S/H includes the 5.95 charge each for the processing and handling of the "FREE" insulated tote! But wait, it gets better - they also threw in a "free" distiller! Come to find out that it is free for 30 days after which time you are charged $279.80. My mother did not realize any of this. You and I might be able to keep up, but at 79 years old, my mother is in tears at the $75 she must now pay for the gifts she thought would cost $20.

EcoCanteen behaved unconscionably. When I called to find out how my Mom got talked into all the extra charges, the representative says "we treat everyone the same". Nice to know.
